Meeting notes & transcripts
How I make meeting notes and it depends on how the meeting happened. Worth noting that consent to record and store this type of data is required.
Remote
Google Meet with Notes and Transcript turned on. The whole chain happens on its own.
And though I'm left with the rename and the filing, and I'm working on automation of that bit.
In person
Record it on my phone with Google Recorder.
Upload the audio to the client's Transistor.fm account as a draft podcast episode. The transcription is very good and it isolates speakers, so I can label whose voice is whose.
Paste the transcript into a tab in a Google Doc.
Get Claude to write the notes from the transcript, usually with a handful of clarifications back and forth, and paste those into the doc.
Name and file the doc to a set pattern.
About fifteen minutes end to end. I'd like it quicker, but it's fine.
Hybrid
Same as remote, with one extra step.
Everyone sharing a room shares a device, so the transcript attributes all of them to whoever joined on it. A find and replace on that person's name marks those passages as attributed jointly to the those sharing the device, rather than leaving them credited to one person.
Other
Phone calls are awkward and WhatsApp isn't possible.
